Maximizing Your DJ Experience with Platinum Notes 4 Mac

When it comes to mixing music, precision and control are crucial. As a long-time user of Platinum Notes 4 Mac, I can attest that this software has consistently delivered high-quality results in my opinion. In fact, it has even outperformed the autogain feature from free tools and DJ software.

The key to success lies in making conscious choices and maintaining constant vigilance over your mixers' channel and main LEDs. This requires careful monitoring of the loudest sections of each track, particularly when setting up the DJ Mixer L&R Channel/main audio levels.

One of my personal favorite settings is the 'ultramizer' function on my Behringer DDM4000 mixer, which acts as a read-only compressor to boost the volume of the music. When working with original music files, it's essential to pick the loudest section of the track and adjust the EQ/main LEDs accordingly.

However, when using Platinum Notes, I've found that choosing MP3 format as my final audio output leads to surprisingly easy results - even the red LED UV light remained hidden, with all LEDs staying in the orange zone. It was a pleasant surprise!

But beware: compressed audio can wreak havoc on DJ software algorithms, causing beatgrids to become misaligned. Thankfully, Platinum Notes only creates copies of original files and doesn't affect or delete them. I learned this valuable lesson after initially using PN's as promoted and having to delete the PN folder/files.

By choosing to keep my original music files intact and avoiding destructive edits, I was able to maintain control over my mixes while still enjoying the benefits of Platinum Notes 4 Mac.
